CenturyCity is the second of our CSS Skin Pack after the Last Supper for the Great DotNetNuke Portal, paving the road of Enlightment. It is Fast because it has no tables.

There has been clearly a need for CSS in DNN community for some time, however, complexities of content & Module placements has always stopped us producing these as packaged skins. Therefore, please note that this is not for you if you are going to add big tables or third party modules with questionable layouts. If your contnet is clean then this is the best way to optimize your page in DNN.

We can not guarantee same consistent behaviour in the fixed width version of the skin as you see in all our standard Table design. Or default DNN skins. You must appreciate CSS skin advantages to table skin as well as appreciating its limitations. If you have a contnet in the pane that is larger than what is allowed for the fixed width then it will overflow. So in that case you would need to use the 100% skin type. In this skin we will not be able to fix faults quickly as the skin is really complex and most likely issues you may have is with third party modules that are not designed well.

This skin comes with number of great containers to suit the skin, as well as, skin types for various situations requiring different ways of content placements in the page.

Please note that All SalarO's Skins are HTML rather than ASCX and it allows you to easily change the design if you wish using DreamWeaver/FrontPage. The core builds the ASCX and therefore, it will have better upgrade potential for the next Major release since all you would need to do is to upload the skin and the next version of DNN will build a new ASCX.

Known Limitations

1- Both fixed width and 95% width skin is included, if we get any issues reported we will list them here.

2- Content needs to be placed with full understanding of the width of the pane available. If you have tables or content that is wider than what is allowed in the fixed skin version then it will show anomalies. If the Third party module is not designed well with too many tables within tables then please use the wide version of the skin.

3- Please test on all browsers and satisfy yourself of the behavior before you purchase

5- Please note that some third party modules may not behave correctly in this skin. We have produced the 95% width for this kind of module.

6- Please note that we also have 3 module wrappers that change the behavior of Link module to produce the horizontal menu. Please see the read me file for what to do to show that effect.

How to upload Skin and Container pack

Step 1...
Unpack the main zip file on your hard drive and you will see the various skins zips and container zip. Upload the skin zip and container zip to your portal via admin/skins/site one by one We prefer that to the combine skin/container method.

Step 2...
Check that the skins and containers are available when you add a page via page functions/settings/advanced settings and set the appropriate container and skin to the page.

Step 3...
You can also set a global skin and container to your site via admin/site settings and only change the skin type or container type when necessary on the page or on the module that requires a different one to the default skin/container..

How to upload DNN skins and containers

CSS skinning : No tables are used for this skin design. This brings considerable speed for your DNN. as well as other general improvements. To see some of the advantages of CSS skinning please see http://www.csszengarden.com/ 
Table skinning attached too : Since some content may be incompatible with css skinning we had to also add tables skin design.
HTML style skins for DNN 3.x & 4.x: The skins are all HTML and not ascx. Therefore, you will have painless upgrade to the next version of DNN as the core skinning engine will account for the upcoming changes and creates the correct ascx files.
Language Selector: Language selector is provided with the package so if you have more than one language available in DNN 3.1.1 and after then it will show itself. if you dont need it then ensure you have only one language set in Host/Language settings. Index page also has no language selector option for those not wanting it.
Standard Logo placements: You can easily add logo to your site by changing the site logo in all versions of DNN  by going to "Admin/Site Settings".
Fixed width: This skin is the 780px width type of skin with number of containers in each skin.
fixed as well as 95% width: This skin types for index and inner is provided with 95% width type of skin with number of containers in each skin.
Vertical Menu: Allows you to have large number of tabs for your site. 95% width re-release in May 06 re-release.
Matching Containers: For the skin pack you have the matching container. Please check the demo site to see the veriations.
Browser Compatible: Full Explorer and Fire Fox compatibility.  After all they are the main two. Check your favourite browser for compatibility. We have not seen any unusual behaviour with others.
Admin Skin Included:  Each of the colour options contain their own admin skin-type.
Easy customization: Skins are HTML style with css link placed. This would allow you to customize the skin with minimum coding knowledge. Just open the skin in DreamWeaver and you will see the skin tokens and move them or change graphics to suit.  However, I must warn you that the menu is not easy to customize. I would take it as is and as seen.
Source Files Included: for all aspects of the skin and containers, you will see the full source code. There are no need to purchase any third party module or skin object to make this skin work.
Modify banner: Moffying the banner can easily change the skin to the subject matter of your business.
