There are a huge number of use cases for HTML 5 like mobility which is very promising. However, if the support of cross browser issues can't be resolved, HTML 5 can't leap forward. It is said that W3C is going to endorse HTML 5 in the middle of this year after API is finalized. Currently Chrome and Safari are on par with on another in terms of HTML 5 compliance. IE10 is also promising much better standards support and Aurora from Firefox will let developers to play with new stuff as they come out.

Khronos Group is the Open Standards for Media Authoring and Acceleration which is a non-profit consortium of companies like Google, Apple, Intel, Mozilla and more dedicated to creating open standard APIs through which to display digital interactive media — across all platforms and devices. Has provided the graphics library that basically extends the functionality of JavaScript to allow it to create interactive 3D graphics within older browsers as a cross-platform API within the context of HTML5, it brings 3D graphics to the Web without using plug-ins.

These days life is getting very difficult for web developers like me, It seems that we have to test against a bigger variety of devices than ever. It is no longer enough to check for IE 6-9, FF, Opera, Chrome, but also Safari for Apple for desktops. We now have to test mobile versions of Safari for iPad, iPhone, Android and no doubt soon Tablet variety of Android not to mention BlackBerry. Here at SalarO we have all of them except Android and now it seems this weekend I got to go out and buy one of these too since we have the first customer asking us to test against it.

comScore Reports Record-Breaking $43.4 Billion in Q4 2010 U.S. Retail E-Commerce Spending, Up 11 Percent up from last year. comScore is a leader in measuring the digital world, today released its Q4 2010 U.S. retail e-commerce sales estimates, which showed that online retail spending reached a record $43.4 billion for the quarter, up 11 percent versus year ago. This growth rate represented the fifth consecutive quarter of positive year-over-year growth and second quarter of double-digit growth rates in the past year.
